Kurt Geiger day of action

A lively demo of over 15 people gathered outside Kurt Geiger in Manchester at the weekend, to take part in a national day of action against this company due to the fact they are still selling real fur boots.
during the demo, the manager came out and tried to get the demo to move on by saying that they didn't have fur on sale in the Manchester store. That is a commendable move, but, as the manager was told, the demos would stop as soon as Kurt Geiger gave something in writing pledging not to sell real fur again. Otherwise, a month down the line they could get more fur in and the demos would start all over again!
The demo was very positive with many people stopping to take leaflets and to sign the petition calling for an end to the import of fur into this country. Many people were walking past already 'in the know' that KG are selling fur and said they were boycotting the company!
The demo was visited briefly by a couple of police officers trying to get the banners removed from the windows of the shop, but when questioned on exactly which piece of 
legislation prohibits the holding of pieces of material in front of shop windows, they soon moved off!!
All in all, the day was a success.
Demos will continue at this shop and others around
the country until Kurt Geiger give a fur free policy. Please
