Manchester Animal Protection
We campaign for animal rights in Manchester and the surrounding areas.
We hold monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of the month. (19:30 at Town Hall Tavern.)
If you would like to get involved please come along and find out what YOU can do to help stop animal cruelty. All people have something to offer the campaign.
|
Vivisection
We are opposed to all animal experimentation on both ethical and scientific grounds. We actively campaign locally and nationally against vivisection and support the ongoing campaigns to close down vivisection laboratories and animal suppliers.
Cruelty free products - If you are opposed to animal experiments then the main thing to do is to cut animal tested products out of your life. It is a myth that animal tested products are more difficult or expensive to buy than none animal tested ones. You can download a cruelty free guide (in pdf format 200KB) that lists what is tested and what is not, just click here to start download.

Factory Farming
The farming of animals for food is the most widespread form of animal abuse. We actively promote the vegetarian/vegan diet as the best way to eliminate animal cruelty from your lifestyle.
|
Circuses & Zoos
We are opposed to all forms of keeping animals in captivity and we demonstrate regularly against circuses and zoos.
|
Fur
The fur trade is responsible for the deaths of over 50 million animals every year. We campaign actively against fur and hold regular protests outside shops selling fur in the region.
|
Hunting
We are against all forms of bloodsports. We protest locally against hunting in the North West.
Members of MAP also will regularly monitor hunts with the NWHSA.
|
Gambling
The gambling industry causes suffering and death to thousands of animals each year. MAP demonstrate against this.
Even on our own doorstep here in Manchester we have Belle Vue greyhound stadium to contend with.
