Snow & Rock anti-fur demos

In
the run up to Xmas, and afterwards, several demos were held outside
Snow and Rock as they are still selling real fox fur trimmed parkas
and rabbit fur boots. The demos were ever increasing in size and
determination to make sure Snow and Rock stop selling fur.
On the last demo before Xmas, the manager came out to inform us that there
is no more fur on sale in the Manchester store and that we would be best off
stopping the demos as we would look stupid to customers as he will be telling
everyone that there is no fur on sale. He also said that he would not be replenishing
the stocks due to the effect that the protests has had on his staff and customers!!
Campaigners asked whether this would mean that Snow and Rock would be stopping
selling fur as a company and would issue an no-fur policy; the manager said
he wasn't in a position to make such a decision and we should contact head
office. The manager was informed that as long as snow and rock are, as a company,
selling fur, then the demos at the Manchester branch would continue as customers
and potential customers will be still asked to boycott the company as long
as they are selling fur and until they will issue a no-fur policy.
The demo continued for a couple of hours with many beeps of support from cars
passing-by the shop. Demos are still happening at Snow and Rock on a regular
basis, please get in touch if you would like to join these peaceful protests.
If you can't attend demos, but would like to do something to help, then please
contact Snow and Rock to ask that they implement a no-fur policy as soon as
possible. Explain that you will boycott them until they do so. Please pass
this on to as many people as possible.
